Where: Grandma's Garage Sale
When: June 4, 2010
The girls think it is a lot of fun to have a lemonade stand. Before today, they have only pretended to have a lemonade stand. A garage sale in a busy neighborhood seemed like a good place to have a "real" one. Target is a great store-Emily found a sign and pitcher perfect for the occasion at a great price along with Country Time Lemonade. We then hit the dollar store for cups. Concerned about the clouds that loomed, she kept asking when customers were going to come. Her first customer was the neighbor boy down the street, he really wanted some lemonade but Emily wasn't going to give it to him for free. After all, she had her sights on new flip flops. So he went home and brought back 50 cents and bought a glass of lemonade. After much persuasion that she should give her friend his money back she did. A grandpa and his grandsons living in the neighborhood stopped by just to buy lemonade. Another lady came shopping and bought one glass but gave Emily a "tip". A few more glasses later the sky became cloudier and soon the rain began to fall. The rain put a dampen on a great opportunity to have a lemonade stand and an opportunity to teach a child a life lesson, but thanks to a few friendly strangers a young girl earned her flip flops.
